Why Upgrade or Install New Electrical Outlets?
Modern electrical outlets improve your home or business. Sutton Electric installs and repairs outlets to keep your power system working at its best.
Improve Electrical Safety
Old or damaged outlets can overheat and lead to potential fire hazards. Replacing them with newer models lowers the risks.
Increase Convenience and Accessibility
Adding more outlets in the right places makes it easier to power your devices without relying on extension cords. This helps distribute power throughout your home.
Upgrade to Modern Features
Installing GFCI outlets, tamper-resistant outlets, or USB-equipped receptacles improves safety. This makes it easier to use modern electronics.
What’s the Difference Between GFCI vs. AFCI Outlets?
Electrical outlets come with built-in safety features to prevent shocks and fires, with GFCI (Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets and AFCI (Arc-Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets being the most important. GFCI outlets shut off power when they detect a ground fault to protect against shocks in areas where water is present. AFCI outlets prevent electrical fires by detecting arcing, a dangerous condition where electricity jumps between faulty or damaged wires. These outlets are required in bedrooms, living areas, and laundry rooms to reduce fire risks. If your home lacks GFCI or AFCI protection, upgrading your outlets makes sure that you get better safety with modern electrical codes.
Other Electrical Outlets and Their Uses
Different types of outlets provide specialized functions for modern technology needs. Two-pronged outlets are outdated connections that lack a safe path for electricity. EV outlets, like the 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet, provide faster home charging for electric vehicles and are commonly installed in garages. USB outlets combine traditional power sockets with built-in USB ports. Dryer outlets come in 3-prong and 4-prong models, with newer 4-prong versions providing safer connections by separating neutral and ground wires. Whether you need repairs, upgrades, or new installations, Sutton Electric guarantees that your outlets are installed for safe power.

Charles Sutton installed six floodlights, replacing the old ones that no longer worked. The ones he installed were so much brighter and better than the old ones!
I appreciate the fact that he uses top of the line products.
He also fixed … More my patio fan switch. He used a far superior switch than the one installed originally. Now I know just how good my fan works.
He and his crew were so polite and professional. I will definitely be using them again! -

Charles is great about getting back to you quickly, … More treating you fairly and working you in if it’s something that needs to be done quickly. He’s done a couple of small jobs for us before now. Service was conducted while I was at work - workers were reported to be cordial and nice - two four way plugs were installed in utility room. Arrived at 0845 left for 30 minutes to retrieve supplies completed job by 1145. Invoiced $847.00 … More (no explanation of cost) - I left multiple messages for clarity and breakdown of invoice but owner never returned calls. I have no idea how much labor costs were, how much supplies/equipment costs were - very vague. An invoice for a job should have line items of costs so the customer knows what they are paying for. Will not use again. -
